Our free Piano School opened in October 2014 at 3138 Cherokee Street, St Louis, and we now have over 100 regular students. Here, we offer free piano lessons, present concerts and recitals, run workshops and other musical events.
In October 2016 we opened our first Piano Satellite Studio in Ferguson, MO in the First Baptist Church of Ferguson at 333 N Florissant Rd, St. Louis, MO 63135 that offers beginner piano group classes for ages 8 thru 18 years old on Wednesdays from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.
Special guest artists hold master-classes and interact with our students and the community at our Piano Slams that introduce various styles of music, and provide the opportunity for our students and others to work directly with some of the most prominent musicians in St Louis.
The community has quickly embraced Pianos for People, Cherokee and the Ferguson Piano Satellite School as a safe and inspiring place, and our highly qualified, warm and wonderful teachers encourage our students to open their hearts and minds to music.
To be eligible for free lessons, you must either be a Pianos for People piano recipient or please fill out the online form to determine if you qualify. We are grateful for the City of St Louis Board of Aldermen Grant, Regional Arts Commission, The Siteman Family Foundation and the Trio Foundation that allows us to offer free piano lessons to young people.
To inquire about lessons call Kayia Smith/Piano School Director at (314) 285-5852 or send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org or fill out our online form and be sure to specify which location you are interested in attending.
